Privacy Policy

This policy explains what information I collect through betterbeginshere.com (the "Site"), how I use and share it, and the choices you have. The Site is operated by Dakar Advisory Consultants, Inc. ("I," "me," or "my"). I'm Isaac Dakar, a licensed insurance agent (National Producer Number 17433701). You can reach me using the contact details at the end of this page.

1. Information I collect

Information you give me

When you complete the quote form on the Site, you provide:

• your first and last name, phone number, and email address;
• your ZIP or postal code and your state;
• your current insurance situation (paying full price privately, on a subsidized marketplace plan, or not currently insured); and
• whether you agree to receive text messages from me.

If you call, email, text, or message me (including on LinkedIn), I also collect what you choose to share, such as your contact details and the coverage you're asking about.

Information collected automatically

Like most websites, the Site's hosting provider keeps standard server logs, which can include your IP address, browser type, device type, the pages you requested, and the date and time. The quote form is provided by an outside company and runs a script on the page. When you submit the form, that script may record your IP address, your browser, the page you were on, the page that referred you, and any campaign identifiers in the link you clicked (such as UTM tags or a Google click ID). It may hold those identifiers temporarily in your browser's session storage until you submit the form.

Advertising

I advertise through Google Ads. When you click one of my ads, Google handles that click under its own privacy policy, and the address of the page you land on may include campaign identifiers. I use them to understand which ads lead to inquiries. I don't give Google your name, email address, or phone number for advertising purposes.

As of the date above, the Site does not use advertising pixels or analytics tools, and the Site itself does not set cookies. Some outside content on the Site can set its own; see "Cookies and third-party content" below.

2. How I use information

• To respond to your requests and to contact you by phone, text message, or email about the coverage you asked about;
• To prepare quotes, compare options, and recommend coverage;
• To submit applications or enrollment requests to insurance carriers at your direction, and to service your coverage afterward;
• To keep records and meet the legal, licensing, and regulatory requirements that apply to insurance agents; and
• To operate, secure, and improve the Site, to understand how my advertising is performing, and to detect and prevent fraud or abuse.

3. How I share information

I do not sell your personal information, and I do not share it for advertising that tracks you across other websites. I share information only as needed to do the work you've asked me to do:

• Insurance carriers and the agency and marketing organizations that I've partnered with, to obtain quotes, process applications, and service your coverage. Carriers have their own privacy notices that apply once you apply.
• Service providers that work on my behalf, such as website hosting and the customer-management and messaging platform that receives quote-form submissions and helps me send calls, texts, and emails. They may use your information only to provide those services to me.
• Government and legal requests, including state insurance regulators, when the law requires it or to protect rights, safety, or against fraud.
• A business transfer, if my business is ever sold or reorganized.
• Anyone else you direct me to share with.

4. Text messages and calls

If you check the consent box on the quote form, you agree to receive text messages (SMS) from Dakar Advisory Consultants, Inc. (Isaac Dakar), such as replies to your inquiry, scheduling messages, and coverage-related information. By submitting the form, you also agree that I may contact you by phone and email about your request.

• Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply.
• Reply STOP at any time to stop receiving texts, or HELP for help. You can also contact me using the details below.
• Agreeing to receive texts is not a condition of getting a quote or buying any insurance.
• Opting out of texts does not opt you out of calls or emails. Tell me if you'd like those to stop too.
• Mobile phone numbers and text-message consent are not shared with third parties or affiliates for their marketing or promotional purposes.

5. Cookies and third-party content

The Site loads some content from other companies. When it does, that company can receive information about your visit (such as your IP address and browser details) and may set its own cookies, under its own privacy policy. I don't control those companies. They are:

• The quote form, provided by my customer-management platform.
• LinkedIn, for the embedded posts and links to my profile. See the LinkedIn Privacy Policy.
• Google, which supplies the Site's typefaces (Google Fonts) and runs the ads I buy (Google Ads). See the Google Privacy Policy.
• Netlify, which hosts the Site.

You can limit or block cookies in your browser settings. Because I don't use tracking technologies of my own on the Site, there is nothing here for a "Do Not Track" or Global Privacy Control signal to switch off.

6. How long I keep information

I keep personal information for as long as I need it to respond to you, provide services, and meet legal, regulatory, and recordkeeping obligations. Insurance rules can require records to be kept for a number of years. When I no longer need information, I delete or de-identify it where practical.

7. Security

I use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect the information I hold. No website, email, or storage system is completely secure, so I can't guarantee absolute security. That's one reason I ask you not to send sensitive details through the Site, email, or text.

8. Your choices and rights

• Texts: reply STOP. Emails: use the unsubscribe link or tell me. Calls: tell me to stop and I'll add you to my do-not-call list.
• Access, correction, and deletion: you can ask what personal information I hold about you, ask me to correct it, or ask me to delete it. I may need to keep some information, for example records connected to an application or policy.

Depending on where you live (for example Colorado, Virginia, Utah, Texas, Oregon, Montana, Delaware, Iowa, or California), state privacy laws may give you additional rights, such as the right to know, access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of your personal data, to opt out of the sale of personal data, targeted advertising, or profiling, and to appeal a decision. I don't sell personal data or use it for targeted advertising. Information collected in connection with an insurance transaction may also be covered by insurance privacy laws and exempt from some of these rights.

To make a request, contact me using the details below. I may need to verify your identity, and I'll respond within the time the law requires. If I decline a request, you can ask me to reconsider, and you may also contact your state attorney general.

9. Children

The Site is meant for adults. It is not directed to children under 18, and I don't knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has sent me information, contact me and I'll delete it.

10. Links to other sites

The Site links to other websites, including LinkedIn. I'm not responsible for their content or privacy practices.

11. Changes to this policy

I may update this policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top shows the latest version. If I make significant changes, I'll post a notice on the Site.
